Sorry, I do not buy your theory that those who pray do not care. That's a mighty thin whitewash you're trying to douse prayer with.

and exactly how does a public prayer request harm you in any way?

Are you saying there is always some evil motivation behind prayer? That's a mighty specious argument.

cement his or he ...[text shortened]... ilt egocentric

As much as it pains me to do so, +1, good sir!

i think youve missed the point of my post. i didnt suggest people who pray do not care, that would be a horrible and stupid thing to say. my point was specific to the beliefs of robbie and galveston. it seems slightly hypocritical to me that they would question the morals and empathy of several of the atheist posters yet if they were in a position to fight to save the girl the atheist would and galveston and robbie (even if it were there own children) wouldnt.

to me that means googlefudge and fmf have more value and empathy for human life than galv and robbie.

what makes god act upon one prayer and not another?
I do not know. Perhaps you should ask God.

I'm not privy to His complete agenda, I'm only human.

That's true, it's not compassion, and you are entitled to point that out, but for a veteran of this forum to post an appeal for prayer here and then complain when the predictable happens, is, well... G75 must have known how it would go. Maybe he got a few people to pray, at the cost of some criticism.
Now that I can agree with. Perhaps he should have known how this would go down, given the history of some of these spiritually zero people.

But I daresay that Gman feels that the benefit of the prayers received outweighs his reaction to the blatant derision of prayer (as well as the derision he himself has received) going on in here.

No, I don't buy that argument either. No one knows just what anyone would do in any situation until it occurs. One would hope that Christians would stand up and assist however they can. And that includes prayer.

I'm not questioning anyone's morals or empathy, except so much as they vehemently oppose prayer for this woman. If they don't wish to participate, well, great, just don't deride Gman for asking for a little human compassion. If they don't want to give any, then they can just sod off and leave the thread alone. Who reacts to a cry for compassion with derision and mocking? I guess we found that out today.

At least I know my place, unlike the atheists and the buddhists here. Don't belittle God like that.

EDIT: Yeah, you'll notice I completely blew off your request to 'share' the parts of His agenda I am privy to, but I'd be repeating myself. We are privy to parts of His agenda as given forth in the Bible, but you and the other atheists continually try to deride that, too. So no, I won't be 'sharing'.

Forgive me if I jumped to conclusions.

I thought you had jumped on the "shoot the messenger" bandwagon in here.

pains you? I see i have disciplined you throughout the years too much, yet discipline,
while grievous, yields good fruit! 😛

'at least you know your place' you make it sound like being a surrendered wife. to my mind humanity is a great thing, god should be honored to stand with us not above us. equality for all.

i didnt expect sharing, i picked up on your sarcasm and i can tell you're a closed book. you like to partake your pithy words of wisdom and run.

you should remember we atheists have to get along day to day with a bunch of people who seem to by okay about the fact that we are going to burn in hell. so forgive us if sometimes we get a little piqued.
