the thing that p***es me off most about all this sanctimonious crap about praying to save somebodies life. is if robbie, galv, google and fmf were there when it happend. robbie and galv would stand and pray and google and fmf would risk there lives and fight the guy. when it comes to the crunch - who is it that really cares?

You fail Gerald, the power of prayer is universally understood to be of immense
importance to Christians, the fact that you have no knowledge of such or do not
acknowledge it as having any potency has no meaning to anyone but you. The life
blood of every relationship is communication, and prayer is a way for the Christian to
cement his or he ...[text shortened]... ilt egocentric
edifice pontificating from your hollow throne that it has no power, neeeeeeext.

to me that means googlefudge and fmf have more value and empathy for human life than galv and robbie.

"What is NOT compassion is crapping all over his honest appeal, as I've already said."
That's true, it's not compassion, and you are entitled to point that out, but for a veteran of this forum to post an appeal for prayer here and then complain when the predictable happens, is, well... G75 must have known how it would go. Maybe he got a few people to pray, at the cost of some criticism.
But I daresay that Gman feels that the benefit of the prayers received outweighs his reaction to the blatant derision of prayer (as well as the derision he himself has received) going on in here.
Originally posted by stellspalfieNo, I don't buy that argument either. No one knows just what anyone would do in any situation until it occurs. One would hope that Christians would stand up and assist however they can. And that includes prayer.

I'm not questioning anyone's morals or empathy, except so much as they vehemently oppose prayer for this woman. If they don't wish to participate, well, great, just don't deride Gman for asking for a little human compassion. If they don't want to give any, then they can just sod off and leave the thread alone. Who reacts to a cry for compassion with derision and mocking? I guess we found that out today.

could you share the parts of his agenda you are privy too. you are not 'only' human, dont belittle yourself like that.
EDIT: Yeah, you'll notice I completely blew off your request to 'share' the parts of His agenda I am privy to, but I'd be repeating myself. We are privy to parts of His agenda as given forth in the Bible, but you and the other atheists continually try to deride that, too. So no, I won't be 'sharing'.

i didnt expect sharing, i picked up on your sarcasm and i can tell you're a closed book. you like to partake your pithy words of wisdom and run.
you should remember we atheists have to get along day to day with a bunch of people who seem to by okay about the fact that we are going to burn in hell. so forgive us if sometimes we get a little piqued.
