You are not in any position of power around here, and FMF has not done or said anything wrong.
It's telling that when people disagree with you you throw a temper tantrum.
It tells us more about you than the people you are having the tantrum at.
It also looks personal as I have said pretty much the same thing as FMF and yet your yelling at
him and not me.

My son knows this family and is obviously upset and my daughter and her family lives within two miles of their apartment.
Thanks....
I believe in prayer and I know it works. I had a prayer answered the other day, praise God.
I cannot explain why some prayers are answered and some seemingly are not, but I don't think it's up to us to try to explain how God works. How can we?
Trying to explain prayer to unbelievers is useless anyhow. Carnal minds cannot understand spiritual thoughts. They do not want to believe, so even if we could prove it they would try to reason away that proof.
I prayed for a specific need to be met last week. God met that need through another person. That other person did not know me, of my prayer, or what that need was.
I have had other prayers answered also. No reason to state them because the unbelievers are exactly that....unbelievers.
Not really sure why they care so much to harass you. If they 'truly' don't believe in prayer why waste their time on us 'believers'??
God Bless and keep praying..

I think The phrase "I will pray for you" is at worst, as comforting as "I am thinking of you" to the person in distress, such as the family and friends of this unfortunate woman, the fact that people give a toss (especially at a local level) is the important thing.
Saying "I will pray for you" can be very passive aggressive.
Atheists (or people from other religions) get it allot when people find out that you're an atheist
and they say "I will pray for you" what they mean is "I think your an evil sinner who is going to
burn in hell unless you start believing in the lord and Jesus Christ right now..."
Obviously if a person is in distress and they are a believer then you telling them you will pray for them
might well be comforting, but that doesn't mean that that is the only way to use those words.

I do not personally think that prayer works, but if a person of any religion said they were going to pray for me, I would take that at it's face value, and would find it as comforting as you saying you we're thinking of me.

That is his personality and that is fine. I could really care less who he is and about his views on this thread or any other subject.
But this is a very sad time for this girl and her family and all her extended friends including my son who knows them. And I see my son sad so naturally it affects me too.
But this is not about me and I posted this news for ones who care to possible pray to God about this to have this resolved in a quick manor for them.
I believe in God and that he does very much listen to honest prayers to him and history has shown tha the does respond.
That said I abhor the lack of compassion FMF has shown and that is my opinion. If he has nothing comforting to add I would prefer him to move on instead of this obsurd reaction he has on a very sad situation.
Other then a few honest and well meaning comments from a couple here I now wish I had not started this at all....
Things like this really show the true hearts of some here and that is sad.

As I stated before, I cannot explain why God answers some and not all.
Are you dying from stage 4 cancer as my good friend is? I would like to pray for you also.
