even the old King James version of the Bible has it four times as Jehovah. Scholars
have no idea of the way it was pronounced, its purely speculative.
I'll go with the speculative idea.

Oh, and very good! You know the KJV as well, then. Actually, it's seven times, if you count the names of places. πŸ˜€

Of, rese ...[text shortened]... son's name: nominal shares.
Existing in name only.

The dictionary would give me its definition; it would not tell me what you mean
when you are using the word. So you are saying everyone who is a Christian
in name only...okay...I'm sure you are going to get a ton of people saying that
is what they are.

I know more than a few people that do not go to church but do fellowship and
actively seek to do God's will. Some people who attend church do so for reasons
that have nothing to do with God. If it is simply those that claim the name but
don't have a relationship with God in Christ, that'd take in more than a few
people.

I asked the source for the reasons I gave in another post. Knowing how a word
is used in scripture or knowing how it is defined in a dictionary does not mean
that is how someone you’re speaking to is using it, better to ask than think you
know what they are talking about and be wrong and confused.

Yes, in my experience, often when I ask are you Christian, some people will say "Oh yes, I believe in God". I often say "well, that's great, but that is not what I asked."

What was that saying, going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more
than going to McDonalds makes you a hamburger. πŸ™‚

Thank God for his mercy, grace and truth; that saves us, teaches us and sets us free indeed.

So all "True Christians" should have only a left hand ?

The question is, not what makes a Christian, the question was, why dont nominal
Christians have a public ministry, answers on a postcard, first out of the hat wins a
free trip to heaven, all expenses, all inclusive offer of a life time, where you will be a
King and a Priest reigning with Christ, xbox 360s with Kinect for the ten runners up.

Yet another RC "brilliancy". Seeing as you've defined a "nominal Christian" as follows, by your definition a nominal Christian CANNOT have a public ministry:
I say anyone who does not actively share in teaching and preaching others after the manner of the Christ through a public ministry is a nominal Christian...

The sad thing, based on your posting history, is that you think your position is "logical" and probably won't be able to see how illogical it is even with it having been pointed out to you.

Seeing as it's extremely doubtful that you can deliver on the "free trip to heaven", I'll take the Xbox 360 with Kinect.

That you love God and your neighbor as yourself is a good place to start, that
you know God in the here and now and have a relationship with Him now, so
that on the day of judgment you do not hear the words depart from Me I never
knew you. Than you have the daily stuff we each go through, where as Jesus
pointed out we should be, being taught and lead by the Holy Spirit as the Spirit
of God teaches us the things of God, very basic but a high level over view.

You defined a nominal Christian as someone who is only one in name only,
so who cares what they do, they are not walking with God, they do not have
a relationship with Christ, they can even do works that look religious in nature
and still just be someone who is only a Christian in name only, nothing real
is there in their hearts.
