Think that is what we call a back handed compliment!

Of course, enjoyment in sport. The banter, the facts, the opinions.

As for the betting, you can always make up 'victories' after the event on these forums!!

Hi there Aussies

Watching Australia's thrilling batting on this last morning.

The ground is empty! Without the Brit 'Barmy Army' would literally be a wilderness

Sad

Why don't Aussies turn up to watch cricket?

The MCG can be really deceiving in terms of crowds. It might look empty, but there is 20,000 people there which would fill virtually every English ground to capacity.

There were 20 000 there on the last day??!!!

A lot of them must have been hiding in the bars!

14000+ was the official crowd.
But normally unless they are close to breaking some sort of record, they don’t count freebies or members at the MCG.

I’d say the state of the game and the state of the pitch had a large say in the small(ish) crowd.

Luck, KA? The one time we have rain in this series is when England are pushing for a win!

No rain around on the last couple of days in any of the first 3 Tests

Still, only 2 results possible here, and neither of them are an Aussie win. 5-0 it isn't going to be.
That was a 'draw' pitch. Disgraceful . Something about afl players not wantin to get scratched ?? Rain , hail or shine they get 90 000 to opening day at mcg and for what? A no result pitch??
Rain had little to do with it

Smith having a great series (to put it lightly!), have always been an admirer on this forum. He IS a puzzling batsman, right across his stumps, has a fantastic eye.

Which records is he chasing? Surely Bradman holds all Aussie batting records, apart from MOST runs or centuries in entire career, as The Don only played 50 or so Tests.

Nice record for Cook. . . highest score ever, in all Tests, for an opener carrying his bat. You'd like that in your cv

I think it was the Aussie groundsman for preparing such a sporting strip

At last we agree
Watching paint dry is more exciting than cricket.

Not four days including tea breaks

Why say Scottish football instead of football ?

No reason really.Just when I talk to football supporters of which I am not one they nearly all say Scottish football is boring.Don't know why.Perhaps there aren't as many overpaid pri madonna's playing up there pretending to be injured
