Nobody has claimed Beckham is better than another player. He probably is bigger (presumably you mean more famous, although knowing your vacuous mind, you may actually mean in stature) than Best around the world.

I just happen to disagree with your position which states that if your name is David Beckham, then you shouldn't have another cap, completely disregarding typcial criteria for international selection.

I'm providing football facts, you clowns are providing fantastical interpretations of how Beckham would fare in a different time.

By the way, as of May '06, Beckham had also provided 29 assists in 94 games. After being dropped and recalled, he provided 3 assists for England's 4 goals in his first two games back. He has also scored 17 goals for his country.

Among the records held by England players, he is 1 of 4 centurions, 1 of 10 players to play in 3 World Cups, holds the record for the most WC and EC appearances, he is 23rd on the all time England goalscoring charts.

But tell us again how you're jealous of his career, and because of this he doesn't deserve any more caps, regardless of form.

I wouldn't say Beckham has been a great player for England, he's often been a good player but rarely great.

Like you say though, if Capello thinks he can add something to the squad he should be in the squad.

Beckham can still get assists from set pieces against any team so I think Capello should still include Beckham because he could make a differance coming off the bench against a top side or even in the WC in 2010 if he can keep his fitness.

I really don't think Capello has him in the squad because the FA are telling him he has to pick Beckham for commercial reasons.

It was Capello at Real Madrid that was the first manager to drop Beckham before McClown ever thought of doing it.

At know point were any of you discussing the merits of his form for getting the caps, untill Rag joined the thread. It was the bashers doing the ranting, while Rag was stating the facts. I was mearly pointing out the good things that David Beckham has done for football in general, not just for the English game but for the good of the game around the world, and its this that i respect him for.
