rangers need 8 out of 12 votes for them to return as a newco, they are allowed to vote, so really just need 7, hearts aberdeen and dundee utd have already said no, vote is on 4th july. a few other teams including st johnstone are asking season ticket holders what they think, almost 90% have said no, and have threatened boycotts if saints vote yes. its dragged on for ages and is really boring, a few weeks ago a helicopter crashed in the north sea, a rescue mission was under way, many lives were at stake, we were watching live footage on the stv news. when, honestly it was interupted by the latest news on rangers. personally i really hope its a no vote

A very principled lot I thought people might be thinking of gate and TV money.

mr green is spending the next few days visiting each chairman to see if he can change their mind, i think the whole bury attempt was a bluff, typical rangers bullies, its like if we dont get what we want we will go away. scottish football is poor, not only in money but talent, 98 since we have been to a finals, dont know if we will be back in the foreseeable future, not with this manager thats for sure, who plays a 1 4 6 0 formation ffs. 😀

Yeah He is about as adventurous as Craig Brown but without the results. It cannot be about money it must be a change in british not just scottish culture that most kids do not spend as much time kicking a ball about as they used to, playing Xbox instead.

I never thought Aberdeen would vote yes, just the bad blood between them, Hearts maybe see themselves as a replacement other half of Old Firm, but the rest of the SPL it does smack a bit of 'turkeys voting for crimbo' in a financial sense.

st johnstone are voting no to newco rangers, they will be in 3rd league next year, only one of the current team says he will stay, its a bit of a myth the smaller teams will miss rangers and the money, we get 3-5 thousand a game but 8-9 thousand when rangers come, twice a year, but need a lot more security and police. as for tv money the smaller teams collect peanuts compared with celtic and rangers. saints are in the draw tomorrow for 1st round of europa league ffs its still june. 😀

Rangers have even less than a snowballs chance, had they approached the matter
apologetically, yes we are sorry, then fine, but they did not and instead have produced
what can only be described as a bitter resentment. The fact of the matter is, as far as
I am aware, neither Murray nor Whyte have been punished for their actions.

Well Roma45 'it's an I'll wind that blows no good' good luck in Europa.

As for the Gers fans getting screwed by their management:-

We know a ditty about that.

It's the same the whole world over
Ain't it just a bleeding shame
It's the rich what gets the pleasure
It's the poor what gets the blame.

Indeed, so it seems, oh well, ill be supporting all who play against the English GB
team. Infact they should not even be called the GB team as they do not represent GB,
having no Scots or Irish in them.

So if the 4x400 metre hurdles team happens to be made up of welsh runners it cannot be called team GB?

I followed the debate over this in Scotland and the main objection to joining seemed to be based on a fear that FIFA would use it as a precedent to eliminate the home nations from international competition and field a GB team in the world and European competitions. Do you share this opinion?

Could you pick a side comprising of the four nations that woud do any good ? The English can't pass .the Irish can't score ,the Welsh can't score or pass and the Scottish can't score ,pass ,tackle ,shoot and defend ! Whats the point of a united kingdom team ?

are you kidding, the SFA is a joke! and even if it did, i for one would be glad to support
a team GB, if it consisted of players from Scotland, England and Northern Ireland, in
rugby there is the British lions, does that in any way diminish the idea of the home
nations, no way, what an utterly absurd argument proposed by the Scottish FA.

I am not sure it is their stance, I am thinking of the main arguments I heard against it on the 'real radio' phone in. So why are there no scots or irish, are there welsh?

Stop complaining about something which is your own fault. You could have chosen to join; you chose not to. But the team was open to players from the entire Kingdom, not just the largest province. Much blame may be laid at the feet of Seb Coe, but this is not his fault. It's the Scots players'.

my fault? ouch, how was it my fault, it was the stupid SFA or whoever came up with
the absurd idea. I would whole heartedly support a team from the UK, if it truly was a
team for the UK, Seb Coe the wee Tory meddler, (spit ding)
