While it didn't really have a bearing upon the result (which was decided weeks ago), I must say I'm personally very pleased that I succeeded in punching above my weight - ranked 5th but finished 3rd.
That has to be my target in the 2nd round, i.e. to avoid finishing bottom as I have no chance of making the final group, but for once I can play to the best of my ability and still finish bottom, so absolutely no pressure or expectation.

Well, take a look at his one Game 1758994.
"Queen sac" in move 18, that's a pretty obvious mistake, isn't it??

I think Group 44 is locked up by GauravV.. was mostly a lock before even starting I think.. unless major upsets.

Thank you, Cludi for letting us see this move.
It helps me with my earlier message that very good players, like yourself, can make mistakes and that it might be worth to keep on playing untill that point of no change on a win or draw.

Not quite as good as your queen sac, but how about my "brilliant" bishop sac on move 18 in Game 1687453. My opponent must've had to pick himself up off the floor laughing. Sometimes you can just look at a position for too long and end up completely missing the point.

here's a should be queen sac that I got away with because he missed it, I knew it was there, even said to myself whatever you do don't move the knight before moving/covering your queen, but then moved my knight (see move 16)Game 1689032
By the way I know I don't belong in that elite class, but it's a missed opportunity for an opponent rated much lower than me.

Ouch! Point taken.

Actually, I've got a few. Here's my favourite:
How not to play the Petrov Game 1141742

My immediate goal is to eliminate errors out of my game.

Quick question regarding timebank; what is the most amount of timebank you have remaining in any of your games? In one of my games against jonbecket I have used 0.4 of a day πŸ˜›

Sheez, you're fast. But I'm through.😏
Now for the pain.
Edit: And an overdue drop in ranking.
