Well things should go smoothly for the IDF over the coming decade whoever wins the coming elections. Magic the way a foreign state gets such unquestioned access to the American taxpayer.

The governments of Israel and the United States are to sign a $38 billion military aid package on Wednesday, which promises Israel financial assistance and missile defense systems over the course of 10 years, according to Israeli media.
According to the Times of Israel, the deal will be signed on the condition that Israel will not seek additional funding from the US Congress for the next decade.
The current military aid package, which gives Israel an annual sum of $3.1 billion, is set to expire in 2018.

You do need the proper missile defense systems against people with stones and knives.

As for jobs, why make American cars in America when you can make them in Mexico? Maybe bring them back whe the unions are all destroyed and once robots make labour even less significant.

Apartheid in Israel is like segregation in America - a system of oppression built on usurped power.

You need your small state with its enormous military like you need your weak president with his or her absolute tyrannical powers.

Yep it all makeas a kind of sense.

I suspect that in the case of a missile defence system they are concerned more about Iran and Hezbollah than poorly armed Palestinians. Hezbollah has a fairly sophisticated collection of missiles in copious quantities which it has sent into Israel before now. It makes sense for Israel to build a missile defence system, it is a credible threat they have had to face in the past. It is not an offensive capability, although it does make an Israeli attack on its neighbours easier as their ability to counter-strike is compromised, whether Israel has any kind of intention to do this is another matter.

You can't possibly be arguing that aid to Israel somehow has an adverse impact on American jobs, can you? On the contrary, Israel spends most of its US aid buying US weapons.

Just think of it as a little Keynesian stimulation of the American economy.

Thankfully, for all its faults, Israeli leadership is less out of touch with the existential threats facing Israeli existence than armchair Europeans.

On the other hand, smarty-pants, I've been bombed by Hezbollah, have lived in Israel, know their exaggerations and have witnessed their responses to stone throwing teenagers first hand.

    Who's in the bloody armchair?

You've seen them employ their missile defense system against stone throwing teenagers?

Their missile defense system is necessary not because of stone throwers or even the katyushas. They're necessary because their enemies (which includes much of the Middle East) are constantly seeking newer and better offensive capabilities to use against them. That you've lived there is wonderful, but that you don't understand Israel's desire for state of the art defense after having lived there is bizarre.

They have a little more than that. Incidentally, I see you like to call anyone who disagrees with you a moron. I'm not really interested in debating with people who resort to insult.
