A child you raised from birth you are more likely to give the benefit of doubt to over looking somethings in the hopes that they are not what you see. People do that with children and politicians all the time!
Your personal delusions does not help your case in court.

Why do you resist a simple change to raise the age of ownership? Is there some earth shaking reason that is unreasonable?
We are talking about laws here not some political squabble.

Actually it's not in Georgia except for a handgun: https://giffords.org/lawcenter/state-laws/minimum-age-to-purchase-possess-in-georgia/

AND:

"Federal law provides no minimum age for the possession of long guns or long gun ammunition." https://giffords.org/lawcenter/gun-laws/policy-areas/who-can-have-a-gun/minimum-age/

The issue is not only ownership, but access. The people who own guns must be held accountable when unauthorized people get access to them.

It’s not been two days, and Americans are grieving over the next school shooting.

America, wake up. These are not isolated incidents. It’s your national disease. You don’t need legislation. You need anger management therapy.

@moonbus
Still, a lot of those shootings were from 18yo kids legally buying a gun or assault rifle. Raising the age to 21 would stop that at least. Of course if daddy has his gun in an unsecured location all bets are off.

Your country has serious social issues. This should be dealt with. The availablilty guns is not really the problem, and controlling that is just a superficial solution.

the liberal culture is deadly. kids are being taught they can be any gender they choose, homosexuality is just fine, lying, stealing and cheating is just fine. Cops should be eliminated, drugs are just fine.

one parent children where most of the time the parent doesn’t gaf.

working and paying your way is frowned upon.

these lib politicians knew what they are/were doing when they destroyed the nuclear family…they are now importing your replacements.

libs now have a candidate with zero moral character that slept her way up the ladder, kids follow your example.

You think it's dumb to make laws since criminals break them?

That's a dumb question. Murder laws will not stop all murders. Gun laws will not stop all mass shootings.

You should be asking what laws can help prevent mass shootings. The attacker used an AR-15, which has been used in many mass shootings (and is similar to the gun used to shoot Trump). Therefore, laws banning assault rifles like AR-15s are a good place to start.

What would that do? You spend a lot of time worrying about things that will not alter anything. Ending abortion legally would only drive people to illegal abortions so it wouldn't change anything. Ending gun ownership will not end gun violence it would only ensure those that owned guns would be the ones who who own them illegally and more times than not with evil intent. The root cause is not age, it is evil intent, always.

Sonhouse didn't say gun ownership should be banned, he said the age limit should be raised.

The Uvalde shooter was 18 years old at the time of the attack and used an assault rifle, purchased legally on his 18th birthday. If the age limit for that gun was raised to 21, those children may still be alive today.
