I wonder when these posters will admit that continuation of the war is a disaster for the Ukraine and the World.

Maybe after many more bodies, cities reduced to rubble and massive economic damage (including starvation in the 3rd World and recession in the West) they'll admit their emotion driven policy preferences led to a far worse situation than a negotiated settleme ...[text shortened]... t; people driven by emotions rather than reason rarely possess self-analytical skills in any degree.
We are not being driven by emotions though No1, you are.
The hard cold reality is that Putin has decided that his best chance of controlling Russia is to give the Russians a bogeyman in the west, if at the same time he can position himself as the strongman who extended Russias borders and stand up to the west.
Given that is Putin’s political strategy then appeasing him, giving him a victory just leads to the next phase of expansion and fear mongering his electorate.
Putin cannot be seen to gain anything he did not possess in January 2022 other than recognition of the de facto reality, which is an actual result for him. Ukraine has proven itself willing to fight and die for its sovereignty and much of the civilised world, including many Russians, should and is supporting them in that fight whilst you keep telling us we should leave them with their primary sexual organ in their hands when they face the Putin regime.

What you fail to grasp is that every day the war continues puts Russia and Putin in a stronger position compared to the Ukraine and the West. This is something that is explained in the various links I have provided, esp. the last, all of which I presume you haven't bothered to read.

Russia gaining some territory filled with People who prefer to be part of Russia rather than the Ukraine is regrettable but in the grand scheme of things it matters little. Putin would have failed in his wider scheme to impose a puppet government on the entirety of the Ukraine and suffered a bit of a bloody nose. The Ukraine and the West should accept that "victory" and avoid the risk of catastrophic Ukrainian defeat and/or worldwide economic dislocation that continuation of the war brings.

I wonder how much Finnish land the Soviets actually held when the Treaty of Moscow was signed and they were formally given ~10% of that country.

By early February 1940, the Finnish Army was exhausted and their defensive lines eventually overrun. Outside help never materialised. Finland was forced to sign the Treaty of Moscow on 12 March 1940, which ceded 11 per cent of its territory to the Soviet Union.

The Wiki article on the Winter War says the Finns ceded significant amounts of territory still held by their forces and that the final treaty was far worse for them than Stalin"s prewar demands.

History may very well repeat itself if the war continues for months or more.

Well, at least they tried.
What would you do to defend your country?

@JJ-Adams
Run and hide most likely.

@no1marauder
And Finland is FAR more ready for yet another attack by Russia, VERY well prepared this time.

You cannot deny reality anymore.

Why don't you tell Biden to move to Russia? He said Ukraine will have to cede territory to Russia. Is he Putin's puppet too?

@Metal-Brain
So at least you FINALLY admit to being Putin's puppet. At least it is out in the open now.

@Metal-Brain
You are the one implying you are Putin's puppet. Every anti American post proves that.

Is Biden Putin's puppet too, Mr. Paranoia?
