I think it's fairly clear from an historical perspective that both socialism and capitalism in their raw and unchecked state are unsustainable. Pol Pot tried the former in extremis, and we all know what happened in Cambodia. What exists is Europe is capitalism with some SOCIALIST [not socialism], principles. Whoever coined the term 'democratic socialism' and applied it to European countries, and used that to prove that democratic socialism is successful is dishonest.
Capitalism produces, while Socialism consumes.
One gives, and the other takes.
There is nothing inherently good about socialism as it eats away at what is produced without contributing.
It is not capitalism that needs to be controlled. The dangerous one is uncontrolled socialism.

The ER? If i had my way, the concept of SELF RELIANCE would mean the patients in the ER would cover their expenses.
We can all stipulate that there are about 50M people who just cannot get along in our society, and I would resolve that by paying every bit of the money that we need to, to support them. But even that is not socialism.
