@Rajk999 said"Maybe we are on the same page but with different definitions." Maybe.
I dont have the time neither desire to analyse all your rantings and changing of these standard definitions. These words, socialism, communism, capitalism, mixed systems etc and all the variations have standard meanings. You are not agreeing with them so I really cannot comment.
Maybe we are on the same page but with different definitions.
I believe capitalism is the ...[text shortened]... y I said socialist principles or welfare can be overdone and lead to fall in the standard of living.
Heather Cox Richardson, a historian of the right, has chronicled the demonization of the word 'socialist' - which was done very much on purpose. Most Americans ARE socialists, so am I, and so are you, apparently. But the propaganda campaign of the right has been quite successful. Words like 'socialist,' 'liberal', and 'progressive' have all been tarnished - on purpose.
Can socialism be overdone? Sure. Like anything. Britain in the 1970's, for example. Germany before Agenda 2010.
Is capitalism good when it focuses on serving customers and sustaining itself with profit and not trying to 'meddle' in government with regulation and monopolies to protect itself? Sure. 🙂
@Rajk999 saidThankyou for addressing a typical cause of poverty, a query of Shavixmir's.
Maybe if you had a point you would have made it. Just saying it is stupid is pointless. Why not explain.
Socialism promotes idea that the means of production (land, factories, resources) should be owned or controlled by society as a whole, rather than by private individuals or corporations. There are countries that have tried this and these are failed economies Eg Cuba, ...[text shortened]... e likelihood of poverty. So uncontrolled socialism tries to privatize as many industries as it can.

@AverageJoe1 saidThat was not the case when I lived there. But even back in those mainly benign times weather wise you still did not bitch about problems with the government.
lived in Thailand for several years and saw the people were in the main happy.
The worst shortage in Thailand is water. Thailand is currently facing its worst drought in possibly four decades, with many reservoirs at dangerously low levels and saltwater intrusion affecting drinking water supplies. This drought is impacting agriculture, particularly rice, sugar, and ru ...[text shortened]... oduction, and is expected to have significant economic consequences.
Sincerely, AvJoe's granny
That is the same back then and now.
Here is an analysis of the droughts and management of them which BTW has been an ongoing problem off and on for generations.
So the Thai government has issued drought management programs.
Drought is not a new thing but man made climate change is increasing such risks all over the planet.
THAT is a definite problem here in the US because Trump is a dyed in the wool climate change denier, Mankind WAY to insignificant to be able to change the climate for the worse which is greatly aggravating the situation right here in the US, for instance you probably haven't the slightest clue as to why NOAH has been decimated.
THAT can be explained because just looking at Trumps stance back in covid days, where he said flat out this covid testing is showing up more and more cases of covid, so I want these covid tests to stop, that way the reports won't show an increase and all is well.
THAT is exactly what trump said on TV, one of the most stupid comments in his first term.
https://thehill.com/policy/healthcare/502819-trump-on-coronavirus-if-we-stop-testing-right-now-wed-have-very-few-cases/
In the case of natural disasters, if NOAH can't report them then Trump feels he doesn't have to deal with them.
Exactly his the same as his reaction to Covid which he downplayed for months.
@spruce112358 saidOK. You are right, it was formulated so that businesses can hit the ground running and make a lot of products and services. Are you saying that that is a bad thing. Why can libs not say what they mean?
We all know why tax breaks were formulated. And it wasn't to "provide more goods and services"! 😆 😆 😆
Tell us that Apple, who made my computer, should not have benefitted from govt tax formulas. You got a cell phone, do you? A result of slick planning with the tax breaks that you hate, which you type about on your computer, a result of tax breaks.
Geez. You fellers always hit a brick wall when you just type what you 'think' , and let it go at that, and then we have to clean up your postsl. Geez
@spruce112358 saidThis one tells me to not claim a tax break when I buy rental property.
That's fine. Might even be a good idea. 😆
Just don't claim a tax break when you do it! 😆
Just because I say socialism is the bedrock of our society (true) doesn't mean that capitalism is bad. Capitalism GROWS once socialism has created a free and equal society.
Capitalism cannot function without rights protection. If there are contract violations, theft, and ge ...[text shortened]... ustomers. We create a truly great society when the two systems do not interfere with one another. 😆
Geez again. You just hit one brick wall after another. If I did not have the benefit of a tax break, which makes homes available for your son to rent, I will not buy the property.
You should re-group!!
@AverageJoe1 saidWhich one produced your computer? King??
King Herod..
How about the part where RAJK says that capitalism produces , socialism takes.
Which one produced your computer? King??
My computer was made by some poor chaps making $3.00 a day in fascist Communist China. 🙂
The USA hardly produces anything any longer due to fascists as you building your manufacturing plants in counties where you only have to pay your workers $3.00 a day. YOU and YOUr false god humpty trumpty are hoping this is coming to the USA soon.
I like the fact that I can call the fire department in my city if my house catches on fire.
I like the fact that I can call the police if 6 thugs in my neighborhood decide they are going to rob people at random.
I like the fact that I can still go to a hospital if I need medical attention.
I like the fact that I am now retired and collecting my Social Security Retirement Benefits that I payed into on every pay check that I ever received for working. It all has been earned by me thru my entire working life. I'm covered with full insurance, retired, and receiving an earned monthly retirement check that get's me by just fine. 🙂

@AverageJoe1 saidOh, I didn't know you lived in Thailand and KNOW how they feel.
Would you banter w shouse for a while, he has questions he needs answered, and says things like people in Thailand are happy, such as that.
Tell me, how many countries did you live in? You seem to have such a DEEP understanding of world order.
I DID live in SEVERAL countries FOR YEARS.
You on the other hand what country did you ever even VISIT? Tijuana? Make a tourist trip to Nassau?
@sonhouse saidI didn't say that I know how people in Thailand feel. Geez, Sonhouse.

Not to get personal, as you do, I have hit every spot over there including the Killing Fields, and hey, how about that 4-mile long road in Bangkok with one little sales tent after another. If they are happy, and I hope that they are, then you show us that happy is a relative term.
I only have lived in the USA, since you ask. But if Trump moves, I am going where he goes.

@AverageJoe1 saidI LIVE for the day both of those things happen. You are a PROVINCIAL knowing NOTHING from personal knowledge of ANYTHING about the world outside the US.

That makes you a HYPOCRITE when you talk about who is happy in whatever country you are puking about.
You see some image of something bad in a country and then conflate it to a world wide problem.
So Trump says THEY EAT DOGS, THEY EAT CATS, you go ARREST THOSE BASTARDS IMMEDIATELY.
And OF COURSE denying Trump EVER said those words when you get caught out as Trumps propagandist.
@sonhouse saidEasy, man. And I was being nice. The 4-mile road is total squalor, which country you paint as happy land. As folks will say, and I never say, why don't you move there? No Trump, no conveniences, sounds good.

BTW, when asked a few yeara ago what is the greatest thing about America, freedom and liberty aside.....I said convenience.

@AverageJoe1 saidTell that freedom tale to those innocent folks with ZERO arrest record attacked by ICE. THAT is perfectly alright with you. A few innocent folks condemned to a life sentence behind gulags where they get beaten on a daily basis is oh well, just the price of freedom.

That is unless YOU are one of those arrested by masked thugs refusing to ID themselves.
Tell me why ICE can continue getting away with BLATANT disregard for the 4th amendment to the constitution, the one talking about unreasonable seizure and arrest for no reason other than skin color in the case of ICE, a clear RACIAL profiling people with ZERO arrest records in jail anyway.
And OF COURSE you approve totally the disrespect and disregard of the constitution.
And an American citizen BABY with cancer arrested by ICE, OH SO BAD but it is the price of freedom.

Tax breaks are crony-capitalist corruption to get rich unfairly. That is all. 😆
@spruce112358 saidPlease do a thread showing how homes prices will drop. As you write your simplistic presentation, do not leave out pesky market matters which might affect the price of a home.
Good. 😆

Hey........if you are right about getting home prices lower, I'm buying with both hands.
@spruce112358 saidQuite a simplistic statement which, truly, leads no where. I will go fix the my garden trestle with hammer and nail, a bit of paint. I will work without a tax break. And so it goes. 🤔

I will also make a kite out of newspaper 🤔
Could you expound? Talk about an unfinished/unclosed post...........
As to tax breaks for rich, I started my secretary's son out, buying fixer-up houses and .....he was not rich. I showed him the tax breaks. So, he got the breaks the rich got.
