You dont either. If you did you would say what it is in the context of you claiming you dont like when people say 'God is on their side'. Clearly you believe in God or fear some kind of God. If you truly believed there was no God, then a man saying 'God is on their side' would be tantamount to saying 'The ToothFairy is on my side', and it wont bother you. You have a personal issue with God and it is your problem to fix. It is not for the rest of the world to conform so that you wont be offended. That last sentence is the weakness of the leftist mentality. They are constantly bothered about other people's beliefs.

As an atheist myself, I'm clearly not bothered on a spiritual level if some politician or world leader claims God is on the side. - I do however recognise the power of words and of weaponizing the religious beliefs of others. (Especially in how they go on to treat others).

Thats the spirit... a true atheist. Not bothered about other peoples beliefs, and if they say God is on their side then thats their business and those who want to believe that. If a man says 'Allah is on his side', or 'Mohammed is his Lord' .. I really dont give a rats ass... he can weaponize all he likes.

Oh .. you can say whatever you want... its free speech. But bear in mind people will judge you to be a weakling [and correctly too], if a mans words offends you. Like I said, it is one of the defining characteristics of a leftist who is easily bothered.

Nah. You wrote that I don't believe in free speech. All I wrote was that I dislike politicians who proclaim that gods on their side. This indicates that you don't understand the meaning of the term.

You also misspelled "ruin".

(Hmmm, early-onset Alzheimer's? I should have thought of this reply before now.)

The government is rules. But "God is on our side" is an extremely toxic message to send to voters, as it implies that the other side is not worth saving.
No, everyone is worth saving because it is not based on merit but by the One who loves us not our worthiness to be loved.

That's not exactly what your Party is saying.

I'm a Christian and I don't like that either.

When they say that they are almost certainly lying.

Please explain how a politician might say "we are on God's side" during a political speech without implying that God was not on the other side? If gods really on both sides, what is the point in saying it?

It doesn't make sense at a memorial service or a political rally, if what you're saying is true.

There's a word for this, and the word is 'hypocrite'.

I think they need to be run by the best ideas promoting level playing fields, not deals in the back rooms with no transparency..
Then why are you a Republican?
