Disarming law abiding non-violent people will not make it more difficult to commit crimes, quite the contrary.

If you live in an area rife with violence, perhaps you should take steps to protect yourself.
Bull.

I'm almost 30 and have never felt the need to whip out 'protection'.

Yes, thugs Are weaklings, but what if he had no gun,
what if the criminal is younger, bigger and stronger than you? Wouldn't you want an equalizer? Have you just thrown your hands in the air and given up?

GRANNY.
What's your point? If I had a gun, the thugs could just have assault rifles. Where do you draw the line?

When I was 30, I thought I knew everything. Took me another 10 years to figure it all out.

So what? You've never been in a fatal car wreck either but I bet you wear a seat belt.

You live in a country that is fife with violent crime, but YOU felt no need for protection? What about all your countrymen that have been victims of violent crime (since it is fife). Perhaps you were just bulls**ting?

Well, perhaps if there weren't so many guns available, less violent crimes would have been committed?

Just like I recycle, switch off lights in rooms not in use and use my kitchen waste for compost, not owning a gun is my little part I'm playing in making the world a better place.

Maybe you could use a gun to go and hunt down a sense of humour...

Thes people had a gun but it didn't pretect them, instead it was among the things stolen.

You HAVE drawn the line for yourself. Now live with it. Why is a criminal not afraid to get a bigger gun, but you ARE? Why would you give up?

So by this logic I should always wear a parachute when traveling by plane, walk around like Bubble Boy and wrap myself in foam rubber mattresses when crossing intersections?

Exactly. At the moment firearms, cell-phones and cash are top priority for robbers now. Having a gun-safe is basically painting a bulls-eye on your back in SA at the moment.
Which is why I will never own a gun.
