So you do or don't wear the seat belt?

Thes people had a gun but it didn't pretect them, instead it was among the things stolen.
Other THINGS were stolen? I say ban those other things also. No one said guns were the perfect answer.

Every 13 seconds an American uses a gun to defend against a criminal.

Of course I do, but you are comparing apples and oranges.

You have much bigger statistical chance of needing a proven safety device than you would 'need' a gun to protect yourself.
Also, see my last post on the previous page.

You're missing the point Granny; let me spell it out for you 😉
The gun didn't pretect them, instead it was something worth stealing.

Owning a gun has become a reason to be killed.

Not anymore, though I am still licensed to own one. That doesn't mean I want to lose my right to have one legally, or have my father's and brother's taken away for no good reason.

Any statistic that doesn't back your argument is subject to this statistic.

I didn't miss the point. Are you saying they went in JUST to steal the gun? What about the other things they stole are they bad to? If you own a gun you better be responsible or don't own one. I'm not going to stop owning a car because it could be stolen and used in a bank robbery where someone gets killed.

Guns are also a proven safety device. See Phlabibit's link.

The contortions you go through to justify your position are truly amusing. You yourself say that you live in an area rife with violence, you refuse to arm yourself, and instead lecture me (the guy sitting in a country chock full of guns and far lower rates of violent crime) that I am apathetic. Its hilarious.

Check the latest FBI crime stats. Guns are used 3 million times a year by law abiding citizens to prevent a crime and they are only the ones Reported.

Sad reading. Personally I'd be anoyed at having to carry everywhere I went. Pretection is important, I should carry a rape alarm, maybe you should carry a gun. Where will it all end? So there was a mad man- it happens. There aren't many mad people and mostly they are a danger to themselves not the public.
