Visibly stalk and / or mildly assault someone.
That should get you a restraining order - don't overdo the assault or you could end up doing time.

Mainly, he is making me miserable.
Double standards, constant insults, purposely going out of his way to annoy me, etc.

He has made several threats, threats of violence, there has actually been fights between us, he has on several occasions threatened to stab me as well.

if you have a restraining order on somebody and you walk into a room with them in it, do they have to leave? that would be cool

That's the idea I think, they can get arrested if they are in a certain radius of you.
