(Acts 4:13) . . .Now when they beheld the outspokenness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were men unlettered and ordinary, they got to wondering. . .
I didn't know what you were talkin about here, but after reading my post i think i now know. I'll rewrite.

'Better to believe an evolutionary biologist on the subject of evoltuion, rather than a plasterer from Glasgow!!!'

Not dissing your job Rob.

actually its not my job now Noobster, i loathe it with a vengeance, and hate when people ask me to plaster or put coving up, or dry line a wall! I only do it for the desperately needy and really , really good friends now. thank goodness!

I heard on a nature show (or was it a Jeopardy! answer) that bats occupy a category on the "biological tree" all to themselves. In other words, humans are lumped with other primates, flies, mosquitoes, and butterflies all fall under the Insect heading, mosses/liverworts and other simple plants have their own phylum or Order or whatever, but bats stand alone. They're not rodents, certainly not birds. I find it curious that they have no evolutionary link to any other species.
Or do they, and I am just misinformed?

You are right,as far as I know.
I have a friend who is obsessed with bats and bat facts. She just loves them.Unfortunately she is in Europe for a couple of more weeks and cannot give this matter her full attention at the moment, however I'm sure she will give a very good answer to your query-after all she has researched every book on bats she could get her hands on...

So from an evolutionary view point, is it possible that life on earth evolved from two or more different sources as in more them one pond that life supposedly started from?

The DNA mapping of life doesn't show that.

Map? There is a map? So who has made up this map that we are to believe? Could it be man? So we aren't supposed to believe in the Bible because men wrote it but we're supposed to believe in this infomation that men wrote that isn't close to being factual where as the Bible is full of facts if would would take the time out to see that for themselves? Hummmmm.

I never liked Batman 🙂 I went to the caves in Carlsbad New Mexico and there are a ton of bats that make that place home. About dusk they the bats come flying out of the caves. They are small but like a swarm.

Well, even humans have a basic form - listen to echos in a cave and if you're careful you can tell when walls are close. Now just slowly amp up the sensitivity. It's just a specialised form of hearing.

No idea about the fossil record, but my guess would be that the organs are too delicate to get a good enough fossil to be able to detect that sort of thing.
I have to agree with this. I think our senses have become dulled. I was listening to our Okidata dot matrix printer the other day. If you listen closely you can tell what report it is printing. It's funny because normally it just sounds like noise.
