I'm not wrong, humans are not better than animals in every conceivable way, I just can't see how you stand by that. 😕

Yeah, but I'm enjoying this. 🙂

Are you aware of the concept of predator and prey? Is the lion better than the gazelle since it is the dominant species in that habitat? NO, it depends on the very thing it kills. Nature provides us with the very food and shelter we are dependent on. To say we are better is to be completely removed from reality.

You say we are not nature? Have you ever taken a biology, anatomy, or even a science class? The ONLY thing that makes us different from animals is our higher reasoning ability. And yet, if you understood my first post, this doesn't make us "better".

So the only way you can say we are better than other animals is cause God said so, right?

I think it is very important to recognise that, yes we are very different than animals, and in many ways we are better than them, but also, in many other ways ...[text shortened]... heir intriguing abilities and use technology to replicate this, and maybe further build upon it.
I can live with that.

Well, ok. But I think we got lost in the semantics of it.

I'm enjoying it too. If we can learn from each other then we are the better for it. 😉

No. I'm saying we are superior based on experience.

I will even go so far as to say we are dominant over even nature.
That should get you going! 😀

lol

If we were dominant over nature, then we would be Gods, no?

What exactly do you mean by experience? I don't deny that we are capable of doing much more stuff than an animal could even dream of, but that doesn't make us superior, just different.

There is only so much we can do to nature before it starts to bite back; we are ultimately dependant on it.
Consider Global Warming...

Now we need to define superior within the context of this discussion. By comparison we are certainly different. Everything is different in some way or else everything would be the same.

But by superior I mean in capability, in knowledge, in ability to do not only good but to do evil.

And what I mean by dominant over nature is that we can create artificial environments to ward off the effects of nature.

And please, don't think of me as a crazy christian. I may be crazy, and I'm a christian, but I'm not a crazy christian! 🙄

Ya, global warming. 30 years ago they said it was going to freeze!

You'll see. It's just politics my friend.

I agree, we are definitely dependent on nature, and natures God.

I'm serious, what is the evidence for that myth? The earth has gotten
hotter by what in the last X years that we have been looking at that
data? How long have we been able to monitor the 'earth's' temp to
even draw a baseline on what is or isn't a normal cycle when it comes
to the temp? People are willing to turn several of the more productive
nations economies in the world head over heals to correct something
that may just be between the ears of the guy who invented the
internet and a few others.

As much as I'd like to talk about this, I don't think this thread is appropriate. 🙂

It's all political Bad wolf. It's part of the leftist agenda. I've been watching this thing for decades. Don't be afraid. That's what they are trying to make you feel. We are not going to effect the earths climate change by even 1%.

I know you have no reason to believe me. Just give it time.

But you can believe me about God though! 😉
