Never mind that Jesus clearly and unambiguously states that He will say that to those who have not ceased to do evil.
Matthew 7
23Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you ...[text shortened]... as snow;
Though they are red like crimson,
They will be like wool.[/b][/b]
Lets look at these, if you are going to quote them and apply them to God as being truthful
we can agree that God is using these scripture. I'll share a scripture I was applying
in my statements. Jesus said the book of John, that whoever believes in not condemned
and those that do not believe are condemn already, it is very clear who is condemn and
who is not.
John 3:17-19 English Standard Version (ESV)
17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. 19 And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil.
I have no issues with what Jesus said in Matthew either, because it isn't by works we are
saved, it is by knowing and obeying the Lord. If you work and do not know the Lord, you
will die in your sins no matter what your good works were. From prophesy to casting out
demons it doesn't matter it isn't by our works, it is by being in Christ and obeying Him,
and God is doing a work in us by His Spirit in us, being born again.
Matthew 7:22-24 English Standard Version (ESV)
22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’
24 “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.
What was it that the Lord said, it was more than just doing good works, and there was
good works there, but that wasn't it! The stresses, knowing the Lord now. It is no
different than Isaiah either, it wasn't just works God stresses.
"Come now, and let us reason together."
There is an aspect of knowing God even there too, you and the Lord should be coming
together even in the OT this was true, seek the Lord. As Jesus said depart from me I
never knew you, and in the OT God says, come now and let us reason together, requires
us and the Lord coming together, and if you don't do that if you are not in Christ and
Christ in you, you will die in your sins. Our outer works, own righteousness will always
fall short, even religious works.
Isaiah 1
15“So when you spread out your hands in prayer,
I will hide My eyes from you;
Yes, even though you multiply prayers,
I will not listen.
Your hands are covered with blood.
16 “Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean;
Remove the evil of your deeds from My sight.
Cease to do evil,
17Learn to do good;
Seek justice,
Reprove the ruthless,
Defend the orphan,
Plead for the widow.
18“Come now, and let us reason together,”
Says the LORD,
“Though your sins are as scarlet,
They will be as white as snow;
Though they are red like crimson,
They will be like wool.
