Guilt by association, is that it? Really?
Should people not be upset when a tragedy could easily have been averted, but wasn't?

God allows most sin to flourish on the earth in these latter days. And it will get worse before it gets better. But this is because of evil, not because of God.
Is it the sin of these children - that they were trying to cleanse by going to church - that flourished?

Are these children evil? Was the driver evil? Was it his own doing or was he taken over by evil?

They may have, they may not have. Maybe God answered "no", maybe he didn't answer at all. Perhaps the parents of these children were unrepentant sinners who didn't have God's ear to begin with.

Too many maybes to know. Do you know?
Could it have been one child's parents that were unrepentant sinners, that made this tragedy happen? Would you be okay with god choosing to allow a bus full of children to burn because of one pair of parents?

In fact, are you comfortable with the idea that god would allow an entire bus to burn like a toaster oven, just because of what their parents are like?

Is that the type of love that theists talk about when they say "God is love"?

Do you think the children were feeling the love as their skin was melting and they were banging their heads against the glass trying to get out?

Do you love God unconditionally, Suzianne?

It wasn't a very personal post, nor was it out of bounds by any means.

They were children, I doubt they had much sin to worry about, especially the willful kind of sin.

Yes, no, maybe. Who's to know? Me? You? Some people are moved by God. Others are moved by evil. But it's the stupid people who are more easily controlled.

And if "getting a drink" meant alcohol, which is likely if he had to leave the kids in charge of the fueling, then either it was here, or further down the road where the tragedy would occur (driving off into a ravine, for example).

My bounds may be different from your bounds.

Is stupidity a choice?

In fact, I am certain they are.

I find the whole concept of using this tragedy to beat up on Christians in an internet forum very distasteful.

As soon as something good and miraculous comes from this tragedy, you be sure and let me know, then I might consider that it was God's will, not before.
It could be that one of the children would have grown up to be a warlord and be responsible for the death of thousands of people.

We will never know, will we? Should we not accept god's unwillingness to intervene as a choice by god?

God likes a bit of irony, doesn't he?[/b]
You should've put this under what would make God imperfect. :'( Sad reminds me of the story of Job. About a year ago a bridal party burned in their limousine on the bay bridge that was sad too just as sad as this. It doesn't have to be just children it could be anyone of any age.

Sigh. /eyeroll

1. I very seriously doubt that. That's not what God is about.

2. God wouldn't do that. That's ridiculous.

3. God wouldn't do that either. So that's not what happened.

4. No. Because that is not love. You're twisting the entire thing into what YOU want it to mean.

5. No. Again, you are using this as yet another soapbox to try to explain why YOU think the idea of God is an oxymoron. I'm telling you that God is not at fault here, regardless of your hypotheses. Blame the man who was charged with the safe transport of these children for their deaths, because no one else was at fault.

6. Yes. And yes, I know this opens the door for you to concoct any number of outrageous scenarios in which you think God might be at fault, but that's just your ideas, they have zero to do with reality. You don't even believe in Him, so how can you possibly sit here and concoct outrageous lies about God to "prove" your point?

I find that loving a being who allows children to burn up to be very distasteful.

We all have different standards, eh?

"Arguing on a message board"

or

"Letting children burn to death"
