@rajk999 saidYou know why you say stuff like this, rajk999? Why you have no love in your heart for God or your neighbor?
Hey ... people with a dunce cap should shut up.
Because you don’t believe God loves you. Your vision of God is of an angry, judgmental tyrant who you’re constantly trying to please and gain acceptance from.
People who love God and love their neighbor know that God loves them.
“We love him, because he first loved us.
If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?
And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.”
(1 John 4:19-21)
When you call Christians on here “dummy” and “stupid” and tell them to shut up and say they’re going to hell, you’re manifesting the hate in your heart because you don’t believe God loves you.
You have a total misperception about God, which is why you also don’t believe He could sacrifice Himself for sinners.
“For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.”
(Romans 5:7-9)
How are we justified before God? By good works? No. By the blood of Jesus.
How are we saved from God’s wrath? By good works? No. By Jesus.
@chaney3 saidOkay....to sum up the OP:
Why the necessity to believe that Jesus is God, especially when Jesus never clearly stated that He was?
Does it matter if a person believes in God, AND believes in Jesus (the Son), but sees them as 2 distinct and different people?
Why the Trinity battle? Does a person's eternal destiny rest on this belief?
"Whoever believes in Him shall not perish"
Believes what?
(This issue is very confusing, and doesn't seem like something God had in mind)
Let's say:
#1...I believe in God as creator.
#2...I believe that Jesus is the Son of God, sent to redeem humans.
#3...I believe the Holy Spirit exists.
Yet.....I am not able, with logic or faith, to see all 3 as 1.
Is that acceptable in God's view?
Note: I am merely asking for opinions, to assist with my neverending cycle of not knowing exactly what to believe. And trying to find Biblical answers isn't getting me anywhere.
@chaney3 saidYou need to stop being misled by these false teachers. Can you figure out from what Paul says here what is acceptable to God and what is the truth?
Okay....to sum up the OP:
Note: I am merely asking for opinions, to assist with my neverending cycle of not knowing exactly what to believe. And trying to find Biblical answers isn't getting me anywhere.
I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.(1 Timothy 2:1-6 KJV)
What is acceptable : Pray for people, live a quite peaceful life with godliness and honesty
What is the truth - There is One God and One Saviour and Mediator , Jesus Christ, who died for all men
These Christians are misleading you with lies. They say:
What is acceptable : Profess faith in the resurrection, and you are saved
What is the truth - There are 3 Gods in One
Choose who you want to believe.
@chaney3 saidI think it depends whether you believe in the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Romans 10:9 says:
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
The Holy Bible is unmistakably clear in saying Jesus Christ was Resurrected. In fact, imo, Christianity wouldn’t exist if He were not Resurrected.
So while other verses speak of believing in Jesus Christ and believing on Jesus Christ to be saved, Romans 10:9 speaks of believing in His Resurrection.
So, imo, if you believe in the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, you’re fine.
@chaney3
I think the Resurrection of Jesus Christ proves Jesus Christ was who He said He was and proves His sacrifice was acceptable to God the Father.
Why? Because while Jesus Christ raised human beings from the dead, only God the Father and the Holy Spirit could have Resurrected Jesus Christ.
“But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.”
(Romans 8:11)

No one on here discourages people from doing good works.
The difference between us (saved by Grace through faith Christians) and you is we do good works and try our best to obey the commandments out of love. You do it out of a sense of obligation and duty.
Which do you think pleases God?
Doesn’t the Holy Bible say God loves a cheerful giver? Why doesn’t the Bible just say God loves a giver?
You remind me of the resentful brother of the Prodigal Son who didn’t realize his father’s love for him and who was always trying to earn his father’s love and approval.
@pb1022 saidI've heard many sermons where the pastor said that the resurrection of Jesus proves that He is God, and I disagree. I sit in the service, baffled, asking:

Why didn't God raise Jesus from the dead?
As far as Jesus performing miracles, God gave Him the power.
In NO way does the resurrection prove that Jesus is God.

@chaney3 saidIt means Jesus Christ was/is the Son of God and that His sacrifice for the sins of the world (i.e humanity) was acceptable to God.
What does your 1st sentence mean?
You asked whether you had to believe in the Trinity to be Ok with God. I gave you the verse that talks about believing in the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.
You apparently think I’m trying to persuade you to believe in the Trinity and I’m not. I was answering the question you asked.

@rajk999 saidWhat you need to produce was something that suggests there was a time Jesus wasn't because the scripture is quite clear He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. I know He was born, it was prophesied years before it occurred, He came into the world as a child, but before that, He was one with the Father. That means He didn't become; He didn't change, He always was the Logos of God, the Word of God, the Son of God, you are claiming something different.
Jesus had a Father therefore he was born and created.
If your Jesus is a created being, something that was made, then as a created being he is not much different than a rock or a turnip, just another part of the creation.
While I'm telling you scripturally speaking He is the Word of God, always was, is, and will be.
