We can likely agree that He was a human man. After that, it gets difficult.

What is Messiah?
What is Son of God?
What is Word?

My answer, basically, is that I don't know.

He refers to God SO many times as Father (who He also prayed to), that it's hard to believe He was God, as many claim He is.
Do you understand the clear teachings of Christ?
Jesus spoke clearly and simply so that anyone can understand.

Read it
Believe it
Do it
Follow it.

Clearly and simply??

How then do you explain such a divide amongst Christian beliefs?? If His message was so clear?

Why should other's answer your questions if you are unwilling to answer ours?

See the last post on the previous page if you want to gain a basic understanding of the term "Messiah".

Yes, I read it. Thank you.

Now we're down to Son of God, Son of Man, and Word. None of which appear to be God.

What about my question.

I am not sure is not an answer it is simply side stepping.

Do accept that in John 1 Jesus is described as God?
"The Word"?

This is your proof?

Not my proof. Just asking you to define yourself by either agreeing with John 1 or disagreeing with it.

I think my OP was pretty clear that when I try personally to answer the question "who do you say I am", asked by Jesus, that my reply is:

Jesus, you sorta didn't make it very clear at all who you are.

And what about the name Emmanuel?

Immanuel--meaning a title, like many titles that were attributed to Jesus, though they weren't his literal birth name. Which is why Matthew pointed out in the verse, the interpretation of the title. "God with us."

Who do they follow?
The church

Peter's reply was "Messiah, and Son of God".

Neither of those is in line with Jesus being God.
What does that mean to you then?

Additionally, why did Jesus command him to tell no one?
