Leave the Gospel out of this, you jerk.
Actually, I thought that you would believe that the Gospel is for all times, all places, and
all peoples.
You use the Word of God as a weapon against others in your pathetic arrogant rants and in your "humour" meant to degrade, ridicule and insult people, you jerk.
Actually, if you would read the passages that have been cited, you would realize that I
am actually trying to help you. I'm trying to get you to calm down, stop being a hypocrite,
and find peace in the tradition to which you claim to have a great fervor.
You are constantly misusing the Word of God in your religiously veiled ideological rants against the Right, you jerk.
I'd love to have a theological discussion with you instead of the lunatic raving that
you are doing right now. How about you start a thread on a Gospel text (or any
Biblical or theological text) and I will offer my opinion and you can show me how
it is a 'veiled ideologicla rant against the Right?'
It would be an improvement of the shameful behavior you are exhibiting right now.

Forgive me for thread-jacking, but I much preferred the original query about the most impressive Christiam I have personally known.
Ellen C. is her name. She is a woman who is now in her mid 80's. I met her about 10 years ago, when I moved to Alaska. I had some adventures along the way and used up almost all of my money. I met her at church, she greeted me warmly and with great love, inquired after my well-being and discovered how tight my circumstances were and she recognized my fear, acknowledged it and ease it in just a few moments. Then....she took me home and offered me a place to stay while I pulled my life in Alaska together. My new life came together within days and I stayed just one night under her roof.
Ellen has two amazing gifts, the first is her great loving kindness. The second is the ability to articulate for you, what you can barely express and then speak words of healing and reconciliation. I think that these qualities must have been what people experienced when they spoke with Christ.
Finally, whenever I have happened to speak of her.....I get told some wonderful story of how she had been there for someone and that Ellen was so gracious and loving, it felt as if you were doing her a kindness by allowing her the opportunity to be a friend. She signs her notes that way; Your friend in Jesus.
Thank you for the wonderful question.

calling me a 'drying poodle.'
When I called you a hypocrite (and I don't even recall doing it), it was
because what you were doing was hypocritical.
When you are being hateful and insulting -- virtues which ought to be
foreign to any Christian -- your truthfulness is hardl ...[text shortened]... hristian is hypocritical.
Congratulations, Ivanhoe! You are a truthful hypocrite!

Indeed I am, but you can't even remember calling me one .... lying jerk. Maybe that is because you label many of your opponents this way, except of course the ones you want to suck up too.

WOW, we consider that word really offensive in my side of town; only calling a women the "c"-word is considered a worse non-compound word profanity. Is that word commonly used during Roman Catholic Church services in the Netherlands, Ivanhoe?
I guess with you joining in the vulgar and gossipping Wolfpack is complete.

(that is, they act contrary to the way in which they say they ought to act), you
will find that I will label them 'hypocrite' as well. Your inability to maintain a
coherent argument which concords with the rules of logic and reason is what
makes it hard for you to correctly identify people as hypocrites (including yourself).
For example, consider Colossians 3:8: 'But now you must put them all away:
anger, fury, malice, slander, and obscene language out of your mouths.'
This thread is a testimony to the degree to which you do not adhere to the own
tenets of the faith you claim to have. Thus: hypocrite.
Here's an idea. Just print out this thread and bring it to the next time you celebrate
the Sacrament of Reconciliation. I am sure that your brother priest will understand
fully.

Stop preaching and apply this post to your behaviour on that vulgar and obscene gossip site, you hypocrite. Your behaviour there is vulgar, obscene and much more foulmouthed than I ever will be able to.
I am sometimes a hypocrite. Are you ?
