There's this quote -

"We now face losing marine species and entire marine ecosystems, such as coral reefs, within a single generation," said Daniel Laffoley, head of the International Union for Conservation of Nature's (IUCN) World Commission on Protected Areas, and co-author of the report.

Which is not quite the same.

In fact a quick scan of the articles, linked by Galveston on page one of this thread, are all references to the quote above taken from a conference at Oxford University in June with regard to the health of our oceans.

I fail to see the issue, does or does not the content of the quote state that the oceans
are, within a generation, in grave danger of losing marine species and entire eco
systems?

this can actually be construed as a bad thing. environmental damage increases with increasing population.

overall, those stats don't say a thing about the quality of life 20 ...[text shortened]... or one of the other civilized western-style nations now than any other place in any other time.
rate of abortion does not affect quality of life,

fail, it certainly has a psychological influence on the women who undergo it and it
certainly affects the quality of life for the aborted child, yah think!

a shameful assertion, utterly scurrilous!

Yes that is what the quote says, but that is not what Galveston claimed, he claimed the 'world will die in a generation' when quite clearly the articles make no such claim.

So will God let this happen?

Well your understanding of English is not particularly good if you cant tell the difference between what galveston wrote and what Proper Knob found in one of his sources. Are your claiming they are identical in meaning? Or are you remaining silent on the matter as you cant criticize a member of your religion?
