"SCA and the hosts have decided that they will not return to their radio show until further notice out of respect for what can only be described as a tragedy."

Weasel words - anything for a ratings boost.

They - the two radio clowns who are employed to do stunts which attract media attention and ratings which of course increase their salaries?

I did wonder about the second set of weasel words too:

"The hospital's chief executive John Lofthouse says Ms Saldanha had been offered support after the hoax."

Yeah, right. If that had really been true, would the subsequent event have happened? After all, she hadn't done anything other than be tricked, along with the nurse who actually gave out the information.

What is it with today's culture that makes dishing the dirt on celebrities increase ratings and advertising revenue?

clearly you don't expect that someone will kill themselves, do you.

The BBC's Nicholas Witchell said it had been suggested to him that she had felt "very
lonely and confused" as a result of what had happened.

suggested? speculative journalism, 'sad and confused', as a result of being a recipient
of a hoax call?? suicidal? really?

More likely distressed at having the local media baying outside her house and accosting her kids trying to get to school. An awful lot of journalism now seems to be innuendo based on what some journo thought might get him some attention.

distressed is one thing, suicidal quite another. Its illegal to accost a child in the UK, you
seem to have a predilection towards sensationalistic journalism yourself, just sayin.

We have sensationalist media, just like you do. I don't go there. We have a raft of decent govt-owned TV and radio so we're not dependent on shock jocks. I only heard about the whole incident from an English RHP opponent.

Don't want to put words in your mouth, but were you trying to say orangutan is a baby?

I guess the fault mostly is with those who buy trash rags and listen to trash radio and watch trash tv. So, no one here.
