Drug cartels are openly warring with police on the streets of Matamoros and Nuevo Laredo. These cities are on the US border with Texas. These events happened in the past 2 days and are continuing as we speak.
Has The governor of Texas called out the Texas National Guard ? NO!
Has the president of the US sent more federal troops to protect our border? NO!
What the hell is wrong with this picture?

The Zetas - American trained counterinsurgency experts - are trying to take over from the Gulf cartel, who have the authority of "the Godfather", Miguel Gallardo.

Deputy Attorney General José Luis Santiago Vasconcelos said in a recent interview that most of the original members of the Zetas, many of whom had received training at the United States School of the Americas

Los Zetas’ training as a local version of the Green Berets constitutes their foremost asset. In cooperation with their U.S. counterparts, the Mexican military created the Gafes in mid-1990s. Foreign specialists, including Americans, French, and Israelis, instructed members of this elite unit in rapid deployment, aerial assaults, marksmanship, ambushes, intelligence collection, counter-surveillance techniques, prisoner rescues, sophisticated communications, and the art of intimidation.

A highly trusted former deputy attorney general, who later became Mexico’s drug czar and was embraced by Washington until his death, is accused in a U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration report of taking bribes from one of Mexico’s oldest narcotics trafficking cartels.
Jose Luis Santiago Vasconcelos, killed in November in a mysterious plane crash over Mexico City, is among three senior federal law-enforcement officials named in an April 21-page DEA briefing on organized crime and drug trafficking south of the border.

I really couldn't care less who or where these gangs were trained by. The issue is these groups are a serious threat to the security of the United States and its' residents along the border. We need to secure, or even temporarily close, our border with Mexico. Local police in Laredo and McAllen are not equipped to deal with this issue. Mexican Federales are unable to gain control of this situation, even with 3 years of dealing with this problem. Drug gangs have even executed illegals from Mexico crossing the border because they refused to work for the drug cartel. This issue cannot be solved by looking for someone to blame but by direct action.
Mexico has a culture of corruption and will never be capable of dealing with this problem. Meanwhile, the governor of Texas and the president of the United States fiddle.

We might have to lock down the border with troops etc but I want to emphasize we cannot blame this on Mexico. The USA has influenced this situation heavily, and I don't mean simply by buying drugs.

As caissad4 has stated, blame is not the issue. What our Government may or may not have done in clandestine ways is a moot point. Protecting our citizens is of up most importance. Thats all that should matter.
