To receive - face. Unless the guy is very good he'll screw it up and it won't do much damage. It's hard to aim for the good bits (nose, ear, temple, throat) when the guy you're trying to hit is moving as well. Edit: this, of course, is assuming you remember to roll with the punch as well.

In the combat matrial arts training, we were taught to drive extended fingers directly into the eyes or neck with the distinct possibility that you may break some fingers, but your opposition will be disabled. I would defend the head at all costs.
