I'm curious what the status of Jewish citizens is or would be in Palestine.

Haven't we heard Hamas give some controversial opinions about Christians as well? It's illegal for the Palestinian Christians to wear crosses in public and many now flee the area.

So countries base their human rights on what other countries are doing?

Start another thread on how Palestinians treat
Jewish citizens, keep this one on track please.

That wasn't the case when we lived there. Christians have a bit of a rough go there, not liked by Jews OR Palestinians even though a lot of Palestinians are in fact Christian.
One Christmas we went to the Bethlehem Lutheran church for services and found the crowd to be in three sections, on speaking German, one speaking English and the other speaking Arabic.
There were plenty of crosses showing with people walking in and out and I saw no problems with Muslim Palestinians.

The only time I personally had any kind of trouble was in the town of Ramallah I saw a shop with Oud's in it, and I asked the owner, a virtuoso on that instrument if he gave lessons and he shot me such a look of hate I beat a hasty retreat, I wasn't wearing a cross or any other religious symbols so I can only imagine what he was, he also was not wearing a religious symbol but it was clear he looked like he wanted to attack me just because I was American.

In the Bethlehem church, we unwittingly got into the German section so everyone there was singing in German and 1/3 was singing German, 1/3 English, 1/3 Arabic. Talk about weird. It was an unforgettable experience for sure.

Palestinian Christians have been disproportionately successful in
business and influential culturally and even politically.

Israel hopes to incite conflict between Palestinian Muslims and Christians,
so it can pose as the protector of Christians against Muslim persecution.
But Palestinian Christians have been fierce fighters against Israel.

"This racist new law makes me ashamed to be Israeli.
Israeli Arabs are being made second-class citizens.
This form of apartheid violates the founding commitment to equality."

    https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2018/jul/22/the-guardian-view-on-israels-new-law-popular-will-is-being-weaponised

"The Guardian view on Israel’s new law: popular will is being weaponised.
The ‘nation state’ bill pays lip service to minority protections. Palestinian citizens have every right to be angry."

"The “nation state” basic law was passed just before Mr Netanyahu welcomed to Israel
Hungary’s far-right leader, Viktor Orbán, who has praised Nazi-era antisemitic collaborators.
If the claim is Mr Netanyahu is soft on antisemitism when it suits him, then honouring
    Mr Orbán is good evidence."
