Why did Obama veto the right of 9/11 victims to sue Saudi Arabia for their role in 9/11 when both Houses unanimously agreed to pass it?

Is it because he sold his soul to Big Oil or is it because they are Muslim?

This is the excuse Obama gave for opposing the bill.

“This is a matter of how generally the United States approaches our interactions with other countries. If we open up the possibility that individuals and the United States can routinely start suing other governments, then we are also opening up the United States to being continually sued by individuals in other countries,” Mr. Obama said at the time.

I can't say I blame him. I mean, would he want people to be free to sue him for such things as attacking Libya and the rest? It might actually put an end to unilateral warfare against helpless countries like Libya. Of course, as Obama pointed out it was not really a war cuz........um.......he said so.

    A) It was passed by voice votes which is not the same as a unanimous vote;

    B) Obama hasn't vetoed it.

I see, but Obama said he would veto it.

    Do you favor the bill?

He said he opposed it and might veto it.

    I don't know.

I'd have to actually look it over and read arguments pro and con.

Passing over the fact that you lied twice in one post (not unusual for you), it isn't even because its Saudi Arabia (one of your governments biggest sponsors).
Its because its ridiculous, and would lead to other people suing the US in a similarly ridiculous fashion. (or maybe not so ridiculous? they would have a much better case)
In fact you might have to face class action laws suits from:
    Vietnam,
    Nicaragua,
    Iraq
    Afganistan
    Syria
    Libya
    Yemen
    and many more.

Men need a way to attack their fellow man.

Would a team of lawyers be preferable to an army of men?

That is a hard question to answer.

That you can't figure out why this is a bad idea is exactly why you can't figure out why a President Trump is a bad idea.

When have I said Trump was a good idea? You are the partisan shill that goes along with anyone who wins the Dim nomination, not me. Have you not noticed the anti-Trump threads I've started?

    Stay on topic Suzy.
