Almost all of the brits have a great sense of humor. I say "almost all" because D64 may live there.

I'm actually going sailing later🙂. It's been stormy so the ocean will be rough - don't want to capsize with the infestation of great whites!

Okay, that's.... horrifying. I'll keep that in mind before I sail on the Pacific ocean....

I actually ended up seeing a shark today after all - they're everywhere in Table Bay. The South Atlantic was rough and icy. Had to take a few friends otherwise my weight alone could not keep the boat from capsizing with the strong winds.

I visit London maybe once a year since my cousins live in Ascot. People are always very nice, polite, and funny. The service is excellent, which says something about the professionalism in the society and most people love their country.

And,of course, the Arsenal are located in North London.

The UK saved my grandfather's life (by granting him a visa in 1941, allowing him to get out of Berlin) and my grandparents were married there.

I quite literally owe the British my life.

Surely it is blasphemy not to mention beer and Belgium in the same sentence?

If one has to say something positive about the inhabitants of the British Isles, it has to be their humour.

A friend of German Jewish heritage says that his family's thankful to China because China
gave refuge (when the USA and UK had refused) to some of his relatives from the Nazis.
(Some Sinophobic racists have told him that it should not stop him from hating all Chinese.)

Marie Jalowicz, a young German Jewish woman, survived the Holocaust by hiding in Berlin,
usually with the help of Communists. Perhaps partly in appreciation, after the war, she
decided (despite having been raped by a Soviet soldier) to stay in East Berlin, become
a citizen of the DDR, and join the Sozialistische Einheitspartei Deutschlands (SED).
