New Zealand hasn't had a death penalty for 30 years and hasn't executed anyone since 1957.

    So it's a moot point.

Life in prison is worse than death.
Dead people don't even know they ever existed.

So you think the death penalty is humane?

The entire thing was premeditated. He wrote about it and filmed it.

What questions would we then have about it?

The only question then becomes, should such a person be put to death?

    What say you?

What if he admits to it and is proud of it?

I'm thinking he will be just that.

I get the notion of due process, but with such overwhelming evidence I think it rather trivial.

But for the sake of argument, let's say there is no doubt.

Should he be put to death?

    No.

Because we are better than that.

What about an eye for eye and a tooth for a tooth? I guess that would be more a question for the Spirituality forum.

Compared to life in a maximum security prison the death penalty is humane.

Lower security prisons are more comfortable and tolerable though.

The question is, are you more comfortable with putting murderers in "lower security prisons"?

    Probably.

I'd rather see Chris Watts fry, though.

Unfortunately, only the secular state decides these things, so no.
