Some Western analysts believe that Robert Mugabe fell from power in
Zimbabwe because China's government had concluded that Zimbabwe
(and China's interests there) would be better off without him.
China has denied having any role in the overthrow of Robert Mugabe.

    https://www.theguardian.com/world/2017/nov/17/zimbabwe-was-mugabes-fall-a-result-of-china-flexing-its-muscle

"Zimbabwe: was Mugabe's fall a result of China flexing its muscle?"

"China’s big bet on Zimbabwe is not all staked on Mugabe and his faction in
the ruling Zanu-PF party. Military-to-military cooperation has continued
since independence in 1980. China financed and built Zimbabwe’s
National Defence College and the People’s Liberation Army has helped
    train the Zimbabwean army."

    https://www.theguardian.com/world/2017/nov/22/china-turns-back-comrade-bob-change-zimbabwe

"China turns its back on Comrade Bob to embrace change in Zimbabwe"

"Opinion pieces in China’s state-run media this week have also highlighted
the economic turmoil Mugabe inflicted on Zimbabwe. “The country has
    turned
into a big slum plagued by hunger,” one scholar wrote in the Global Times."

Should the Westerners who celebrated Robert Mugabe's downfall give
any thanks to China for (perhaps) discreetly helping to arrange it?

Some inside information for you Duchess: The vast majority of Westerners are far more concerned about when their next amazon.com order will arrive, and don't care at all about Robert Mugabe, Zimbabwe, or what China is doing there. You might think this issue is a major concern in the western world, but it would struggle to make page 5 in most western newspapers.

I'm just pleased that the violent and spoiled Mrs. Mugabe wasn't able to steal the presidency. She tried her best.

As usual, the tireless troll Mchill's eager to attack me and spews nonsense in doing so.

The troll Mchill shows ignorance of the fact that several writers here (including Ash, a
white South African) participated in threads about Robert Mugabe's downfall in Zimbabwe.

The troll Mchill also shows ignorance of the fact that Robert Mugabe was a bogeyman
for many right-wing white Westerners for several decades. The Western media has
given considerable coverage to Robert Mugabe and Zimbabwe.

To sum up, many Westerners (including at least several at RHP) are less ignorant than
the arrogant troll Mchill about Robert Mugabe and Zimbabwe.
